The 6th annual External Funding conference will tackle the latest developments in funding and assess the landscape in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Interactive workshops, all led by
representatives of expert organisations,
will look at:
• Lottery funding – The Big Lottery Fund will
explain what it has planned for the coming
years and how you can work more
effectively with BIG’s local officers in your
part of the country.
• Capacitybuilders – This session offers a
chance to find out about the nine priority
work areas of Capacitybuilders National
Support Service programme and to assess
what the changes mean for your
organisation.
• Local Area Agreements (LAAs) – Find out
what is happening and how the new LAAs,
which place more emphasis on area-based
service delivery and impose fewer central
targets, will change the way your
organisation is funded.
• Social enterprise – Discover the benefits,
how to acquire funding and the unique
outcomes that can be delivered through
social enterprise.
• Sustaining organisations – Increasingly
charities are being told to move away from
grant ependency, become more
businesslike, earn income, develop an asset
base and consider loan finance.
Opportunities for delivering public services
are also increasing. The NCVO’s Sustainable
Funding Project will offer practical
strategies for how to make the most of
these opportunities as part of a sustainable
funding mix.
